Here at Spirit Hill Farm we have owned and raised quarter and paint horses for years, then we met the miniature donkey.  It all began several years ago with the surprise Christmas gift of a little brown jennet named Maggie who was heavily in foal.  For anyone who owns minis you know that it was love at first sight.  We are often asked what the draw is to these docile, loving creatures. We have found the best way to handle this is to simply extend an invitation to the farm.  

      Our herd sire is Dogwood Hill's Smokin' Bandit.  He is a very dark brown with no cross and a big white blaze (MSF).  His sire, a 30" black and white, is out of Circle C Black Russian and his dam is a super nice, dark brown Dogwood Hills jennet. His sire threw an assortment of colors from black to ivory.  Bandit's first years babies (2009) were super. He sired a brown spotted, gray spotted, brown MSF, gray MSF, brown/grey, and a black NLPs. You can see Bandit on "Our Herd" page and in the picture above.  Our brood jennets range from 31" to 35" and are a variety of colors (spotted, dark brown, red, and gray/brown w/MSF). 

      Our goal here at Spirit Hill Farm is to raise healthy, quality and loving babies and place them in just the right homes.  We are very particular about where our minis go so if you feel you can offer them a great home with lots of love and attention please contact us to see what we might have available.
