Here at Spirit Hill Farm we have owned and raised quarter and paint horses for years, then we met the miniature donkey.  It all began the Christmas of 2003 with the surprise gift of a little brown jennet named Maggie who was heavily in foal.  For anyone who owns minis you know that it was love at first sight.  We are often asked what the draw is to these docile, loving creatures. We have found the best way to handle this is to simply extend an invitation to the farm.  

      Our herd sire for 2008 babies is, MDHR Carrousel Ivers, who is a super nice, 31 1/2" spotted jack, whose pedigree goes back to several imports.  Ivers now makes his home with the wonderful Bailey family in East Tennessee and will be their herd sire.  We have 5 jennets bred for 2008 to Ivers.  Our brood jennets range from 31" to 35" and are a variety of colors (spotted, black, brown, sorrel, and gray/brown w/MSF).  Our new herd sire, Dogwood Hill's Smokin' Bandit, is a very dark brown with no cross and a big white blaze (MSF).  His sire, a 30" black and white, is out of Circle C Black Russian and his dam is a super nice, dark brown Dogwood Hills jennet.  Then we've had another very nice/small black jack born here at Spirit Hill Farm in 2007. Spirit Hill Russian Jet, is out of the same sire as Bandit above and another very nice Dogwood Hills jennet that we purchased bred last year.  You can see them both on "Our Herd" page.

      Our goal here at Spirit Hill Farm is to raise healthy, quality and loving babies and place them in just the right homes.  We are very particular about where our minis go so if you feel you can offer them a great home with lots of love and attention please contact us to see what we might have available.
